New Paisley Grammar School building will be a ‘jewel in the crown’

The new Paisley Grammar School will be a “jewel in the crown” once it opens next year, a senior Renfrewshire Council official has said.

Construction of the state-of-the-art facility in Renfrew Road is “well beyond the halfway point” and “on track” for completion in the summer of 2026.

An update was provided on the major project at the local authority’s education and children’s services policy board on Thursday afternoon.

Gerard McLaughlin, head of education, dubbed the progress at the site “really exciting” as he told elected members: “We have a jewel in the crown, I have to say.

“This will be the place where people will come and look at what has been designed.”
