Man rushed to hospital after blaze in derelict building

A man has been hospitalised following a fire at a derelict building in Paisley.

Emergency services raced to the town's Thrushcraig Crescent around 2pm on Tuesday afternoon.

Two fire engines arrived to tackle the blaze which had developed on the ground floor of the block.

A male was subsequently taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment following the fire.

The man's condition is unknown at this time.

A police cordon was put in place while officers carried out local enquiries in a bid to establish exactly what happened.
