READ PAUL ABOUT IT BY WEST SCOTLAND LABOUR MSP PAUL O'KANE

Johnstone is full of winners

A few weeks ago I visited Cochrane Castle Golf Club.

I was there to meet with members and staff and present them with a framed copy of a Scottish Parliament motion I lodged that recognised their recent award win.

In May, the club were named Best Golf Club at the Scottish Hospitality Awards.

When I was speaking to members of the club - including captain John Cunningham, bar manager Allyson Hillhouse and former club captain Alister Miller - it was clear they were very proud of winning their award.

Joseph O'Neil, the club secretary, pointed out to me that the awards ceremony in May proved to be not just a fantastic night for Cochrane Castle Golf, but also for the town of Johnstone.

He was absolutely right as ReBuddha won Best Dining Experience and Globe Bingo won Best Bingo Hall.
