'If ever a family deserved justice and truth, it's them'

Emma Caldwell was murdered in 2005

Gerry Gallacher blew the whistle on the blunders by senior officers investigating the murder in 2005.

He lifted the lid on the glaring guilt of deranged sex attacker Iain Packer, which senior officers had refused to acknowledge as they built a case against four innocent Turkish men.

Gallacher was incensed to learn the remit of the inquiry - announced after Packer was jailed last year - will focus on Strathclyde Police, which became part of Police Scotland in 2013.
