|October 07, 2025
Plans to transform an empty retail unit in Paisley’s West End into a hot food takeaway have been given the green light by Renfrewshire Council.

The takeaway will, if approved, sit within a vacant unit on Wellmeadow Street
A bid for planning permission - submitted by MJK Architects on behalf of an applicant - for the spot in Wellmeadow Street has been approved, subject to conditions.
The ground floor commercial space is expected to feature a sit-in area and counter at the front and kitchen, preparation and washing up area at the back.
A report of handling by the chief planning officer explained: “Planning permission is sought for the change of use of a vacant retail unit to a hot food takeaway with internal seating area at Wellmeadow Street, Paisley, together with the erection of an external flue.
