Renfrewshire supermarkets have been identified as one of the cheapest places to currently buy petrol amidst fears the conflict in the Middle East could send prices soaring.

Threats from Iran to target oil tankers travelling through the Strait of Hormuz and its attack on an oil refinery in Saudi Arabia have led to growing fears for global price rises.

Scots are currently being told not to panic as there hasn't been any predicted change in the petrol price forecast, which currently sits at an average of 132.9p per litre.

Meanwhile, those driving diesel vehicles are being charged an average of 142.7p per litre.
