Ferguslie Cricket Club's sixes was biggest one yet

Ferguslie Cricket Club missed the chance to go second in Western Premiership One on Saturday when they went down by three wickets to second-placed Ayr.

A rain-delayed start saw the hosts put Ferguslie into bat - a decision that looked like paying dividends.
The visitors were in serious trouble at only 42/5 in the 17th over, with the fatlady clearing her throat in preparation for an early appearance.
However, at this point, Haroon Tahir joined younger brother Adam at the crease. The pair produced a wonderful stand of 125 runs to take Ferguslie from likely losers to possible winners.
Haroon scored an amazing 86 at a run aball. In contrast, Adam produced one of his best knocks of the season, supporting his sibling with a superb 47.
The partnership appeared to inspire the tailenders when they came, as debutant Usama Nazeer clubbed 14 from only seven deliveries while Ettiene Jewell hit 23 from 18, allowing Ferguslie to reach 226/9 at the end of their innings - a score that had seemed unlikely a few hours previously.
Ferguslie’s chances of a win were further boosted by a sensational start to the Ayr innings, as both captain Michael English (1) and Marcel Marconi (0) had departed with the score only on one.
