'Compassionate' staff at care home praised

A Paisley nursing home has been praised on how well it supports the wellbeing of the elderly people living there.

Two members of the Care Inspectorate made an unannounced visit over three days to Kyle Court nursing home.

Based on a scale of one to six where one is unsatisfactory and six is excellent, it was rated as five - meaning 'very good' - for how well it supports people's wellbeing.

The Lochore Avenue facility was also ranked as four-meaning 'good' - for its setting.

Among the key messages, the report by the inspectors said staff "showed kindness, skill and responded quickly when people needed help with their health".

It added that "staff worked closely with external health professionals to give people the right care at the right time" and that people took part in "a range of activities that helped them stay active".

The report also added the home was "clean, comfortable and well maintained but some areas could be improved for people living with dementia".
