Catering boss finds his shop being sold online

On the move Scott McGinlay has had to move catering business HQ

A catering business has been forced to move from its Paisley site after the building was put up for auction unexpectedly.

Scott McGinlay Catering - which operated from Causeyside Street - was stunned to learn from neighbours that the shop was in an online auction.

Scott says it came as a complete shock and admitted he felt disappointed not to have been given first refusal to buy the property despite being a “longstanding” and “reliable” tenant.

The shop had also recently undergone a revamp as Scott believed it would be their home for the future.

And despite the five-year lease expiring at the end of September, Scott felt a renewal wasn’t going to be an issue as he had always had “a positive relationship with the agents” prior to leaving.
