Dozens of people attended the annual Accord Strawberry Tea when good food and good company created a stellar fundraiser.

Now in its 12th year, the event sees an afternoon tea served up to around 100 people at Victoria Bowling Club every summer.

This week, Eleanor McColl-Corrigan, who heads up the team of volunteers who organise the Strawberry Tea, said this year's event raised an incredible £2,800.

It means the annual tea party has raised in excess of £20,000 since it started.

Eleanor told the Express: “The day was a huge success.

“We raised £2,800 in a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon, which is just amazing.
