CP Radhakrishnan sworn in as 15th Vice President of India

Chandrapuram Ponnusami Radhakrishnan today took oath as the 15th Vice President of India.

President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath to Radhakrishnan at a swearing-in ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former President Ramnath Kovind, Former Vice Presidents M Venkaiah Naidu, Hamid Ansari and Jagdeep Dhankhar, union Minister Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari among others. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a post on X said, "Attended the oath-taking ceremony of Thiru CP Radhakrishnan Ji. A dedicated public servant, he has devoted his life to nation-building, social service and strengthening democratic values. Wishing him a successful Vice Presidential tenure, dedicated to the service of the people". Born on May 4, 1957, in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, CP Radhakrishnan earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Starting as an RSS Swayamsevak, he became a state executive committee member of the Bharatiya Janasangh in 1974. Before entering public life, Radhakrishnan had a long and successful career as a garment exporter. In 1996, Radhakrishnan was appointed secretary of the BJP in Tamil Nadu.
