We've lost India to China: Trump

US President Donald Trump's latest salvo at India indicates the thinning prospects for a trade deal between Washington and New Delhi. In a social media post, the POTUS remarked the US has lost India and Russia to 'darkest' and 'deepest' China. He went on to sarcastically add that the three nations "may have a long and prosperous future together." Over the last few weeks, India-US ties have witnessed a major downturn after over two decades of close cooperation. The tension began after the collapse of negotiations for a trade deal, as well as Trump's repeated claims that he resolved the military conflict between India and Pakistan in May. The US has also been targeting India for buying Russian oil and arms.
