6 firearms seized; suspected Bihar link under probe
In a major crackdown on organised crime, police arrested 12 suspects and seized a cache of weapons including six firearms in Berhampur amid suspicion over their link to arms factories in Bihar’s Munger district.
The arrests were made following coordinated raids in four police station areas ~ Badabazar, Sadar, Nimakhandi, and Digapahandi -- under the jurisdiction of the Berhampur police district. Along with the firearms, police also seized 12 rounds of ammunition, six magazines, seven mobile phones, six sharp-edged weapons like sword, and a toy gun.

Schools in 3 dists shut for four days
