NEP 2020 will play key role in instilling patriotism: CM

Describing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 as the first education policy of the 21st century, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Monday said it would play a crucial role in instilling constitutional values and patriotism among the students.

Speaking at a discussion on ‘Indian Knowledge Tradition in the Context of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020’, organised at the Central Sanskrit University in Puri, Majhi said, “The NEP 2020 is the first education policy of the 21st century. The policy, which has been designed tomeet the developmental needs of the nation, would play a vital role in instilling constitutional values and patriotism among the students.”

The CM emphasised that India’s youth must acquaint themselves with the nation’s rich heritage of knowledge, culture, and glorious history.

Majhi said India, despite enduring centuries of foreign invasions, has successfully preserved its ancient wisdom and traditions, “It is everyone’s responsibility to protect and sustain this heritage,” he said.

“As our ancient sages envisioned education for the greater good, the present system must uphold that ideal,” Majhi said.
