India battled drone swarms, misinformation during conflict

During a four-day intense military confrontation, the Indian armed forces neutralised swarms of Pakistani drones and countered a coordinated campaign of cyberattacks and misinformation, underscoring the evolving nature of modern warfare.

Ahead of India’s precision strikes under Operation Sindoor May 7, targeting nine terror camps in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir and Pakistan, multiple Indian websites came under cyberattack. The digital offensive began shortly after the April Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

The website of the Army Nursing College in Jalandhar was hacked and defaced with inflammatory content. At least four Army Public Schools, including APS Nagrota and APS Sunjuwan, were also targeted by hackers.
