CM FOR BALANCED DEVPT OF ALL REGIONS

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Monday reaffirmed his government's commitment to ensuring balanced development across all regions of the state.

"The Odisha government is equally focused on the progress of both remote and developed areas," Majhi said while addressing a public meeting in western Odisha's Nuapada, where he announced 957 projects worth over Rs 1,100 crore.

"For years, people in backward and remote areas have complained of regional disparity. Our government is ensuring that every region receives equal attention," he said.

Majhi said Western Odisha Development Council has been strengthened with enhanced funding and separate development councils for northern and southern Odisha will also be established soon.

The CM also said that industrial development in every district was being prioritised to ensure balanced growth across the state.

Responding to a longstanding local demand, Majhi announced that Khariar Road has been declared a municipality, while Komna block has been granted NAC (Notified Area Council) status.

Similarly, Sinapali NAC has been formed by merging Sinapali and Godal gram panchayats.
