This year, as Janmashtami arrives, it’s worth revisiting those ideas — with a fresh look at how they apply in today’s fast-changing business world.

Celebrated on Janmashtami, Dahi Handi involves teams forming tall human pyramids to reach and break an earthen pot (Handi) filled with curd, suspended high above the ground. Crowds cheer, water is splashed to make the climb tougher, and the winning team takes home the bounty.

Beyond its colour and excitement, this sport is a live case study in teamwork, strategy and resilience. Here is what it can teach today’s professionals and leaders:

The Handi or Pot is visible to everyone — the objective is clear. Likewise, in business, goals must be specific, transparent, and shared so every member is aligned & focused.
