Road closures having a 'significant' impact

HIGHWAYS bosses have admitted that two road closures in Nuneaton are having a 'significant effect' on traffic and journey times.
For some, the journeys around the Weddington and St Nicholas Park areas of town are taking up to 40 minutes longer than usual.
This is due to the closure of part of Higham Lane and also the lane closure near to Etone School.
The News online reported claims of 'chaos' as some cars were forced to U-turns in the road as Sat Navs were not recognising the closure of part of Higham Lane.
The impact of this road closure, as well as the loss of one lane on Leicester Road, is causing issues across the town, Warwickshire County Council has admitted. These works are set to continue until May 30.
