ACADEMY GRADUATE REWARDED FOR HIS ‘HARD WORK AND PROFESSIONALISM' WITH DEAL RUNNING UNTIL 2029

- By SARAH CLAPSON

NOTTINGHAM Forest defender Zach Abbott has signed a new contract.

The teenager has been rewarded for a memorable 2024/25 season with a new deal at the City Ground. He is now tied to the club until the summer of 2029.

It was barely a year ago when Abbott made his first start for the Reds at senior level. He was in the XI as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side lost to Newcastle United on penalties in the Carabao Cup last August.

The 19-year-old made his second appearance for the club several months later, in Forest’s FA Cup semifinal clash with Manchester City at Wembley no less.

He gave a fine account of himself during his 83 minutes on the pitch as the Reds lost 2-0.
