DENNIS BRACE FOR HOSTS BUT POINTS ARE SHARED
-
NOTTS County head coach Martin Paterson said “we can’t put blinkers on and pretend there aren’t things to work on” after the 2-2 home draw against Bromley in League Two.
Idris Odutayo’s late effort preserved Bromley’s unbeaten start to the season as the points were shared at Meadow Lane.
Matthew Dennis’ brace, which took his tally this term to four, appeared to have propelled Paterson's side to victory.
But Odutayo salvaged a hard-fought point for the visitors during the closing stages after Ben Thompson had earlier levelled.
Dennis opened his account in the 11th minute when, having latched onto Kelle Roos’ clearance, he drifted infield unchallenged before drilling beyond Grant Smith.
But Bromley were level seven minutes later as more of the indecisive defending threatening to undermine the Magpies’ work saw Mitch Pinnock’s miscued cross reach Thompson, who rifled home.
Dennis pounced again just past the half-hour mark.
