Unofficial car park to be closed after locals' complaints

AN unofficial Sneinton car park is being closed by Nottingham City Council after complaints from residents.

The Sneinton Dale Road car park is on the site of Dale Farm, which was demolished in the 1990s. It has since been used as an unofficial car park, and the owner applied for retrospective planning permission.
The application for change of use for storage and car sales, submitted in September 2024, was refused by the Planning Inspectorate this month after several appeals.
Permission was denied after a series of residents' complaints, including increased traffic, car alarms throughout the night and visual appearance.
The owner has now being served with an enforcement notice and must leave by March 15.
