Union urges railway track workers to vote for strike

WORKERS could walk out at a rail plant as a dispute over a “completely unacceptable” pay offer continues.

Balfour Beatty's rail plant services company carries out track maintenance and engineering works for Network Rail across the country and has a large base on the Stapleford and Sandiacre border.

These workers could now go on strike after the RMT Union opened a ballot for industrial action on Tuesday. If workers approve going on strike in the ballot, the RMT would then set out further details on strike dates and how many workers were involved.
