PATRICK, 81, SAYS FLOOD OF FILTH HAS 'RUINED' HIS BUNGALOW
A FLOOD of sewage has “ruined” an 81-year-old man’s bungalow.
The filth rose through Patrick McNally’s shower drain and cascaded through the hallway of his Bestwood home on August 17, and he says he has had little to no support from his landlords, Places For People.
“I woke up at eight o’clock and the shower room was full of sewage. It was all over the place,’ he recalled. “It had filled the shower room and run across the hall on 12 foot of the carpet.
“I worked as a chemicals operator for years, cleaning tanks which have had animal fat in them, but I've experienced nothing like this. It’s an unbelievable smell.”
Mr McNally, who pays £559 rent each month to live in Chambers Court, said Places For People had failed to properly clean the bungalow, and he’d had to do a lot of the work himself.
