Run brings special spirit to city's streets

NOTTINGHAM'S Robin Hood Half Marathon was back again at the Victoria Embankment, this time with a record-breaking number of runners.

Around 14,000 people took part in the 44th edition of the event - 3,000 more than the previous year.

Large crowds gathered at the Embankment yesterday morning to cheer on those getting ready to take on the hilly 13.1-mile race.

The "electrifying" event saw participants leave the Embankment to do a loop around the city, towards Maid Marian Way, the Park estate and Wollaton Park, where runners would start descending back to the starting point.
