IMPATIENT MOTORISTS HURLING ABUSE AND CUTTING UP CORTEGES

- By LOUIS CORBETT

Road-rage drivers are causing funeral upset for grieving families

A FUNERAL director has hit out at road-rage drivers after a worrying increase in abusive incidents during processions.

From drivers getting out of their vehicles to hurl abuse towards the funeral cars to people blocking the views of their loved one's hearse, these worrying incidents are on the rise, according to funeral directors LJ Crawley and Sons of Daybrook.

The funeral directors, which has been serving the city since 1993, hit out on social media after becoming frustrated with the daily occurrence of road rage and reckless driving shown by impatient members of the public.

Louis J Crawley, 59, the firm's director, has now spoken to the Post about the incidents. He said: "We've been cut up on horse-drawn carriages, motorcycle processions, with more incidents than I can report.

“It’s happening all over as well. People think that you are hindering them, so they rush past you with just inches to spare.
