Reds' stars are ripe for 'cherry picking' due to PSR constraints

SIMON Jordan fears Nottingham Forest could have their best players 'cherry-picked' because of the Premier League's financial regulations.

- By BRIAN DICK

Forest look set to sell Anthony Elanga to rivals Newcastle United for a reported £55million plus £5m in add-ons, with reports suggesting personal terms have already been agreed.

Jordan believes the Reds have had to factor profitability and sustainability regulations into their thinking, banking a decent profit on Elanga as opposed to keeping a player who was a key part of Nuno Espirito Santo's team last season.

The Reds could receive around £40m more than they paid Manchester United for the winger although speaking on talkSPORT, Jordan put that in context and once again hit out at the Premier League's PSR rules.

He told the White and Jordan show: "United, although their competence needs to be questioned, they must have a sell-on and they'll have some of that.

"Anthony Elanga wasn't really wanted at Manchester United. He's had a standout season at Nottingham Forest.
