NOTTINGHAM Panthers began their Elite League campaign with a massive 6-1 victory on the road against Guildford Flames.

Chase Pearson scored twice and former Guildford forward Bryan Lemos had a goal and two assists on a night of dominance by the Panthers.
Jason Grande started between the pipes with Luca Sheldon as backup, while Matt Alfaro remained the only absentee as he recovers from his postseason operation.
Tim Doherty went close twice on the same shift while David Noël was denied on the powerplay and at the other end, Grande made a huge save to stop Tyler Preziuso's shorthanded breakaway.
