Raise a glass to Robin Hood at beer festival

VISITORS ARE INVITED TO WEAR OUTLAW-THEMED FANCY DRESS TO HONOUR TIM POLLARD

THE legacy of the city’s official Robin Hood will be honoured at Nottingham’s biggest beer festival following the death of the man who played the legendary outlaw for more than 30 years.

Tim Pollard, 61, died after a short battle with cancer at the end of June

Mr Pollard, dressed in full regalia with bow and arrow, was a firm fixture at CAMRA’s Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival, at its current home at Trent Bridge, and previously at Nottingham Castle and the Motorpoint Arena.

Nottingham CAMRA chairman Steve Westby said: “There’s no doubt that it will feel strange not to be welcoming Tim through our gates as Robin Hood this year. Our festival is about celebrating the best of our city and county, and he certainly embodied that spirit.
