Public consulted on fate of two leisure centres

TWO “ageing” Gedling leisure centres could be knocked down as a borough council tries to avoid mounting repair bills.

Carlton Forum Leisure Centre and Richard Herrod Centre could both be replaced by a new, purpose built facility on the site of the latter.

The plans form part of Gedling Borough Council’s broader Ambition Arnold plan to transform the town through a range of phased improvements.

The Labour-run authority has just launched new consultations on both Ambition Arnold and its leisure centre proposals.

The Arnold plans are largely the same as those the council consulted on last year, but more details have been provided on how the currently unfunded project would be carried out.
