APOLOGY AS RESIDENT COMPARES VENUE TO ‘A CLUBHOUSE WITH MAGALUF MUSIC’

Pub landlord vows to address noise, but events will continue

A PUB has apologised to its neighbours after they raised concerns around “constant” noise.

The Jolly Anglers, in Meadow Road, Beeston, is the subject of an investigation into alleged antisocial behaviour after residents shared their frustrations over noise at the pub - which was dubbed as sounding “like a clubhouse with Magaluf music’.

Neighbours told the Post the sound was so bad “somebody ended up selling their house because they got fed up”.

The landlord has apologised for the upset caused - but says the problems “won't be fixed overnight”.

In a statement posted on Facebook on Thursday, the landlord claims the only major event the pub has run this year so far - a hoedown on Sunday, August 24 - started at 3pm and finished at 8pm.

However, one resident claimed the pub was expected to shut at 11pm on that day, but noise could still be heard at 11.45pm.

“This was a conscious decision so it didn’t start too early and finish too late for the local residents,’ the pub’s Facebook post reads.
