Pub landlord 'over the moon' to get burgled equipment back

A PUB landlord has thanked the community for its support after equipment stolen in a burglary was returned to him.

Mike Douglas, landlord of The Winchester, in Sherwood Business Centre, Winchester Street, said he was left distraught after tools, stock and PA equipment was stolen during a break-in on Tuesday, October 7.

He said thousands of pounds worth of property was taken when an intruder smashed a window and broke into the building in the early hours of that morning.

Mr Douglas said the suspect had packed a bin full of items before making off along Winchester Street at around 3am, which led to his urgent appeal for Ring doorbell footage along the residential street.

Mike said: “Emotionally, it's been annoying, losing the tools was a blow. We built half the bar and the business centre we are in.
