Police volunteer Barbara 'makes the station tick'

SHE JOINED THE FORCE 16 YEARS AGO FOLLOWING HER RETIREMENT

A RETIREE who has been a volunteer with Nottinghamshire Police for 16 years has been described as the "glue that pulls everything together".

Barbara Jameson joined the force in 2009 after her retirement.

She started out by helping with admin and interviews in Worksop, where she still supports the Bassetlaw Neighbourhood Policing Team and is now one of 28 volunteers at Nottinghamshire Police.

Ms Jameson said: "When I retired from work, I didn't want to stop at home.

"I enjoy putting something back into the community and I get satisfaction from it. My motivation is that I feel as if I'm putting something in, I feel as if I'm doing a job that is worthwhile."
