Police sergeant used her work phone to bombard ex with text messages

A NOTTINGHAMSHIRE police sergeant has resigned after using her work phone to bombard her ex-partner with 120 texts following a relationship breakdown.

Former Detective Sergeant Talissa Northedge used the force-issued phone to contact him for six months despite being blocked from his personal phone and told to leave him alone.

Yesterday, a gross misconduct hearing at Nottinghamshire Police headquarters at Sherwood Lodge found she would have been sacked had she still been in post.

Temporary chief constable Steven Cooper, who chaired the hearing, described the conduct as “serious and persistent” and said there was evidence of harassment.
