Plans to turn family house into children's care home

Nottingham Post

September 17, 2025

A FOUR-BEDROOMED house will be turned into a children’s care home if plans are approved by councillors.

The family home, at 18 Sookholme Lane in Warsop, would be registered by Ofsted and could house up to six people - three carers and three people under the age of 18 - at any one time.

The children who would live there, who would have learning, emotional or behavioural difficulties but not any special or additional needs, are intended to be long-term residents.

The applicant, Alfred Thomas Property Ltd, says they will undergo a"'stringent risk assessment” to ensure they integrate with the local community.

They have submitted the plans to Mansfield District Council.
