Pici's fresh new take on Italian food

RESTAURANT AIMS TO BE 'ACCESSIBLE AND FOR ANY OCCASION'

ANYONE old enough to remember a traditional Italian trattoria won't find it at Nottingham's new pasta restaurant.

Pici's take on Italian dining is still rustic but the surroundings are modern and minimalist, stripped back to to brick, with a neutral colour scheme, olive trees and large windows overlooking a Hockley side street.

Food is served from an open kitchen offering a short but appealing menu where the dishes are meant for sharing and the prices aren't eye-wateringly high. Co-owner Ryon Ishfaq - the man behind the city's successful pizza joint Slice 'n' Brew - said: "We want it to be accessible and for any occasion so if you want to come in for a glass of wine and pasta it's a good price point but also if you want to go all out and get steak or a piece of fish, you want to come for a full-on meal, bottles of wine, for that reason as well."
