ORGANISER SAYS HE AIMS TO 'NORMALISE' SOBER SOCIALISING

PARTYING and heavy drinking are often associated with the younger generation, but one student-heavy group wants to break away from that mould.

Young Professionals Nottingham hosts events where members can socialise and network without holding a drink in their hands.

While the group hosts pub crawls and after-work drinks, walks and hikes, badminton games, trips to the cinema and board game competitions are among the other events on its schedule. The group has recently focused on sober socialising, a trend made popular by Gen Z and millennials.

Anish Mistry, one of the organisers, explained his motivation to host events where drinking wasn’t the sole focus.
