Nottingham Trent University announces its new vice-chancellor

NOTTINGHAM Trent University has named its new vice-chancellor and president following the departure of Edward Peck.

Professor Dave Petley, pictured, currently vice-chancellor of the University of Hull, is to succeed Professor Peck in December 2025.

This comes as Professor Peck is set to step down this summer, having led the university for 11 years. He explained in January that it felt like “the right time” to hand over his role as the university enters its 2026-2031 strategic cycle.

Professor Peck’s annual base salary at NTU stood at £321,160 in 2023-2024. Besides his vice-chancellor role at the University of Hull, Professor Petley is also chair of Yorkshire Universities.
