'Menace' banned from shops in town after string of thefts

A PROLIFIC shoplifter has been banned from several stores in Beeston after pleading guilty to five counts of theft in his latest court appearance.

James Martin, 44, who has multiple convictions for shop theft offences, has now been served with a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO), which also prohibits him from being in possession of an open can or bottle of alcohol in the Beeston area.
Martin, of Chilwell, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court, where he pleaded guilty to thefts from local businesses in the last three months of 2025.
