NOTTS COUNTY By SAM ALLEN

Matthew looking to settle with Magpies

NEW arrival Matthew Dennis believes the Notts County way of playing suits his game and was a big pull factor as he decided where to commit his future.

The 23-year-old had options at the end of a short but successful spell with Carlisle United on a personal level, scoring six goals in 14 appearances for the Cumbrians, who were unable to avoid relegation from the Football League.

The chance to stay in League Two next term would have attracted Dennis when Notts came in but the footballing philosophy that has been carried through by multiple head coaches at the club was also an appealing factor to the move.

"I'm delighted and grateful for this opportunity," said Dennis.

"I want to show everyone what I can do, so I can't wait to get going.

"The stadium, the project that is going on here and the style of play made me feel I could really fit in.

"I hope that I can really flourish here, enjoy my football for the next three years and reach new heights with the club.
