'Living wall' dies in library delays
Nottingham Post

SHERWOOD IS STILL WAITING FOR OPENING TWO YEARS ON
PLASTIC greenery has replaced live plants that have shrivelled up and died at a library that should have opened nearly two years ago.
People living near the new Sherwood Library noticed that the so-called “living wall” on the front of the building was dead.
The wall was supposed to be maintained by a water system, but a malfunction was one of the snags that delayed the library's opening from summer 2024.
Library users in Sherwood are having to use a mobile van in a park as the delay drags on although even the van recently failed to turn up due a “technical fault with the vehicle”.
The owners of the building have now replaced half the living wall with plastic plants in what campaigners hope will be a “temporary” solution.
