Labour MP says Starmer should be more like Trump

A NOTTINGHAMSHIRE Labour MP says Keir Starmer needs to stop “pussyfooting around” after a disastrous set of local election results.

Jo White, elected as the Labour MP for Bassetlaw in 2024, says the government is “busy talking to itself" and that the Prime Minister should emulate Donald Trump's leadership style.
Although Labour held on in several mayoral and council races across the country following the elections last Thursday, the party lost a key by-election to Reform UK and saw its number of councillors fall. The Nottinghamshire County Council race saw Labour reduced to just four councillors and Reform take control.
Bassetlaw's MP has now written an article in The Daily Telegraph slamming the current approach of her party's leader. In the article, published on Saturday, the MP wrote: "Sir Keir Starmer has shown strong leadership internationally and he needs to start showing the same leadership in our own country and stop the government pussyfooting around.
