Furniture firm ceases trading and jobs lost

A FIRM has called in administrators, ceased trading and made staff redundant amid "severe challenges" in its industry.
Administrators were appointed at Long Eaton-based furniture importer Alexander & James Limited last week after attempts to sell the business failed.
The firm, which was incorporated in 2013 and traded from Harrington Mill on Leopold Street, imported sofas produced in Thailand and supplied them to furniture retailers.
