Four Lime e-bikes found dumped in canal

BOSSES of the charity responsible for the upkeep of Nottingham Canal have pleaded with vandals to stop after Lime e-bikes were seen dumped in the water over the weekend.

- By LOUIS CORBETT louis.corbett@reachplc.com

Officials at the Canal and River Trust said such incidents meant their resources would have to be diverted away from other important work.

They have asked the culprits to refrain from doing the same again after several of the hire bikes were spotted in the canal, outside Nottingham Magistrates’ Court, on Easter Sunday.

A spokesman for the trust said: “The Nottingham & Beeston Canal is more popular than ever and a really important corridor for wildlife, so it's a real shame to see people dumping bikes in the water like this.
