Family's tribute to 'star boy' who died in motorbike crash

A CORONER has concluded an inquest into the death of a 17-year-old Nottinghamshire boy who passed away following a motorcycle accident.

Omari Lovell Thomas died after the collision on Field Lane, Chilwell, which took place on October 21 last year.

An inquest held yesterday at Nottingham Coroner's Court was told that Omari sustained a “severe, large head injury” in the crash.

A witness, whose account of the collision was read out at the hearing by coroner Beth Brown, said Omari was riding the motorbike behind him before he was overtaken.

There were no other vehicles around and the tarmac was dry, with no ice or rain present. After overtaking the driver, Omari increased his speed and he was “going too fast, a lot faster than 30mph”.
