'Evil' rapists who abused girls jailed for a combined 42 years

TWO Nottinghamshire men who subjected girls to “horrific” sexual abuse have been jailed for a combined 42 years.

James Doyle, 62, and Neil Dunkel, 67, both formerly of Newark, were on Friday put behind bars for their crimes.

Doyle started a series of sexual abuse against one of the victims when she was just 13, with the ordeal going on for eight years.

The other victim was 11 when she was first abused.

The long list of offences took place at various locations across Nottinghamshire, the police said.

Doyle had nine separate charges brought against him - including seven counts of rape - but denied the crimes.

Meanwhile, his friend Dunkel was charged with raping one of the victims on two occasions after being invited to an address by Doyle.

A three-week jury trial took place in November, during which the two victims were forced to relive the horrifying events.
