CHAIN SAYS IT CANNOT ASSIST WITH 'PERSONAL CARE NEEDS'

Disabled man is banned from two Wetherspoon pubs after staff had to help him in toilet

A BULWELL man has been banned for life from two Wetherspoon pubs, because staff are unable to help him in the disabled toilets.

Edward Rooney, 41, a Bulwell traveller with cerebral palsy, has called out the popular pub chain and said that he will “not let this lie” as he demands the ban be lifted so he can continue to dine out with his family.

Mr Rooney claims that a couple of months ago he was in the William Peverel pub in Bulwell with a friend, and had to use the toilet.

He enlisted the help of his friend, who left to go to the bar and did not return.
