NATHAN WANTS TO SHOW HOW DETERMINATION AND SUPPORT CAN 'PUSH THE BOUNDARIES'
A NOTTINGHAM teacher is attempting to break a Guinness World Record, vowing to not let his health condition define him.
Nathan Kilcourse, 35, will take on the challenge of being the fastest person with type 1 diabetes to complete a marathon.
Mr Kilcourse, a PE teacher at Endeavour Academy's upper school in Daybrook, will be one of the thousands of runners taking on the Altra Yorkshire Marathon on Sunday.
He aims to beat the current record of 2:30:09 for a person with the condition.
Mr Kilcourse was diagnosed with diabetes as a teenager and described the moment as “a big shock and very overwhelming”.
