'Dangerous' thug gets 14 years to 'protect public'

A THUG carried out three shocking episodes of violence in Nottingham city centre in which one man was stabbed, another stamped on and a third repeatedly kneed to the face.

CCTV of two of the brutal incidents, played at Nottingham Crown Court, showed Job Murray launch the vicious assaults on different victims in the early hours of the morning each time as part of a group.

The 27-year-old father, from Derby, who was jailed in 2016 for stabbing four men outside a snooker club in the city, was himself stabbed in one of the incidents. Now he has been jailed for years for his part in the violence in Nottingham.

Handing him a 14-year sentence, Judge Tina Dempster said: “It does not need me to tell you all of these offences are so serious that only a long custodial sentence is appropriate. And in the past you used a combat knife to stab four men and you were later involved in violent disorder while you were in prison. I find that you are a danger to the general public and you need an extended sentence to protect them.”
