Council to spend £248k on urgent repairs to hall

RISK OF 'RAPID DETERIORATION' IF PROBLEMS AREN'T ADDRESSED
URGENT repairs to Nottingham's Wollaton Hall will be made after a decision was made to pump more money into its maintenance.
Nottingham City Council has decided to allocate a further £248,000 to the repairs of the Grade I listed Elizabethan mansion, which is on Historic England's at risk register.
Conservation experts previously said the former country house, which was built in the 1580s, was at risk of "rapid deterioration" if problems with its roofs, windows and masonry were not fixed quickly.
