LANDLORDS COULD BE FINED IF THEY DON'T ABIDE BY RULES DESIGNED TO DE-CLUTTER CITY
Concerns have been raised about the increasing number of lettings boards being displayed in Nottingham
NOTTINGHAM City Council has applied for Government approval of its plan to “tidy up” city streets.
It comes after concerns that lettings boards were contributing to neighbourhood decline and cluttered streets.
Under previous restrictions imposed in 2013, renewed in 2018, and which lapsed in 2023, the council was able to control the “clutter” with strict enforcement in place.
And now the council is looking to once again impose tougher measures on letting agencies and landlords to tackle the issue.
The measure will impose strict criteria on when the boards are advertised, their design and visual appearance, the number of signs, and how they are mounted on a property.
The areas affected by the restrictions include Lenton, Arboretum, Wollaton East, Radford, Hyson Green and St Ann's.
These include Middleton Boulevard, Faraday Road, Lenton Triangle, Forest Road West, Mansfield Road, The Drives, Dunkirk and Lenton, Derby Road and University Boulevard.
